"Raindrops" is more than just a painting—it’s a study in perception, perspective, and patience.
On a rainy day, I tried to take a photo of a lone tree outside my car window. My phone camera refused to focus on the tree, instead sharpening only on the raindrops on the glass. I didn’t want to roll down the window and get wet, so I kept snapping pictures, hoping that at least one shot would show the tree in focus. None did.
Frustrated, I almost gave up—until I looked closer. The tree was in focus… just not in the way I expected. It was upside down in each raindrop, each one a tiny lens bending light in a different way. That moment of unexpected discovery made me realize: this had to be a painting.
